Solidarity Delegation to Guatemala

Please keep the Solidarity Delegation in your prayers. They depart Wednesday of this week and return the following week on Friday (Oct. 30). We pray for safe travels, a time of learning and growing, and that it will provide us as a community a window into the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in Guatemala. We also keep the community of Chichipate in our prayers with the recent violence there.

We have 4 people travelling with us from Chichipate and that is moving. Their story is horrible. Theresa (who stayed at our home when the delegation visited Blooimngton) said her nephew was shot in the neck when the"police" pumped 70 bullets into his van. The military is moving into the area and no one knows what is next.
They are off to San Andres Itzapa next where there is good weaving. She also spent some time with Virginia Scott who was the translator when the delegation visited Bloomington and who led the group Suzanne and I travelled with when we visited 3 years ago.

  2. Thanks for the update, Jim. I'm sure every day is moving in some way and we are eager for any news. Thanks for sharing this.
